Scarborough Wins Enterprising Britain Award

The name of Scarborough shone brightly on London’s Downing Street last night as Scarborough beat off tough competition to Scoop the prestige title.
After months of eagerly waiting by Scarborough hotels, the results of the Enterprising Britain Award were eventually announced at a spectacular ceremony in on London, at which Scarborough was declared the overall winner. Following this award the town will now go to represent Great Britain in the European Enterprise Award.
The award was presented at the Chancellors address, No11 Downing Street, By Businessman Peter Jones, to Councillor Derick Bastiman who is head of regeneration in Scarborough.
The competition was formed by by the Department of Regulatory Reform and was aimed at Finding the place where enterprise has over the past two years helped transform community and led to improvement of Economic prospects for the area.
