The birth of your child is a very special occasion and you may wish to formally celebrate his or her arrival with family and friends within a comfortable Scarborough hotel.

Much like a wedding, a christening or Baptism isn’t just about the ceremony – it also includes a party or reception afterwords. It’s a chance to catch up with friends and for everyone to meet your baby. It can be as simple as afternoon tea with cakes right through to a three-course sit down meal.

Every ceremony is personal to you and your child. Supporting Adults or Mentors (who may be friends or family) take the place of the traditional Christian Godparents and declare a pledge to be there for the child throughout their life, whenever their help is needed.

Naming ceremonies are not legally binding and have no legal status, although you will be presented with a souvenir certificate as a memory of the event.
